You don't need a ticket to see the World Cup. You just need to know where the party is.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs June 11 to July 19 across 16 cities in the USA, Canada, and Mexico — and every single one of those cities has an official FIFA Fan Festival (or several). That means giant screens, live music, local food, 20,000 strangers becoming your best friends for 90 minutes, and absolutely zero match ticket required. Entry is free at most venues. The atmosphere? Absolutely priceless.
Here's your city-by-city breakdown.
1. Mexico City — El Zócalo
Open: June 11 – July 19 (all 39 days)
The tournament kicks off here. And Mexico City's fan zone at El Zócalo — one of the largest public squares on the planet — is going to be operating at maximum chaos from day one. Mexico vs. South Africa opens on June 11, thirty minutes away at Estadio Azteca. The Zócalo will swallow 100,000 people without blinking.

2. New York / New Jersey — Fan Zone Queens + Fan Village at Rockefeller Center
Fan Zone Queens: June 17 – June 28 | Fan Village: July 4 – July 19
The original Liberty State Park plan got scrapped, but the replacements are honestly better. Fan Zone Queens at Louis Armstrong Stadium (USTA Billie Jean King Center) brings that outer-borough energy, produced by Live Nation. Then Fan Village at Rockefeller Center takes over from July 4 through the Final on July 19 — the iconic rink transforms into a football pitch surrounded by massive screens across the full three-block campus.
MetLife Stadium is hosting the Final on July 19. The whole city is going electric.
USTA Billie Jean King Center, Flushing + Rockefeller Plaza, Midtown Manhattan
Fan Zone Queens requires free advance registration — sort that now, capacity is capped
Live Nation produced, immersive cultural programming, street food
Pro tip: For the Final weekend, Fan Village at Rockefeller Center is your best bet — Top of the Rock views, midtown buzz, no commute drama.

3. Dallas — Fair Park
Open: June 11 – July 19 (34 of 39 days — the most of any US city)
Dallas is not messing around. Fair Park — a massive cultural complex — is hosting 34 days of fan festival programming, the longest run in the USA. AT&T Stadium is hosting nine matches including a semifinal, making Dallas one of the most action-packed host cities in the entire tournament.

Open 34 days — rest days only on July 8, 12, 13, 16, and 17

You already know it's going to be a moment.

Atlanta's fan zone lives at Centennial Olympic Park — the same park that hosted the 1996 Olympics. Hard to think of a more American-iconic setting. Mercedes-Benz Stadium has a retractable roof and climate control (a genuine blessing for July in the South), and it's hosting a quarterfinal deep into the tournament.

Before You Go: What You Need to Know
Entry: Most fan zones are completely free. Kansas City and Fan Zone Queens (NYC) both require free advance registration — get those sorted the moment you're confirmed on travel dates.
ID: Bring it. You'll need it for alcohol purchases and some controlled entry areas.
Bags: Clear bags up to 12" x 6" x 12" are your safest bet. Leave the big backpack at the hotel.
Heat warning: Dallas, Houston, Miami, and Atlanta in June and July are brutally hot and humid. Southern US cities have climate-controlled stadium roofs for a reason. Dress light, hydrate constantly, and get there early before the sun peaks.
Registration heads-up: Boston and Miami both carry some funding uncertainty heading into the tournament — both are confirmed as of now, but always worth checking official host committee sites before booking non-refundable travel.
Unofficial watch parties: Don't overlook them. Finding an organic gathering at a bar, restaurant, or neighbourhood square can be equally memorable — sometimes more so than the official zone. Your national fan group likely already has something organised. Find them.
